Preventative Service

In this day and age computers and their networks are critical to almost every business.

From a one computer small business to large corporations with hundreds of computers and more they are an in dispensable tool in day to day business. When computer systems fail or data is lost the downtimes can be very costly.

Here at Haycom we have been dealing with our business clients for over 12 years now and we are well aware of the problems that arise when these computer systems fail.

Large companies can afford to have dedicated IT staff to look after their network. What about smaller businesses? Their systems are just as important to them, yet it is uneconomical to employ fulltime IT staff.

After so many years of looking after SME (small to medium size enterprise) customers, here at Haycom we have noticed that many call outs that are attended to by our engineers could have been prevented if routine maintenance had been exercised properly.

As is the case with your own human body...prevention is cheaper than cure. The same applies to your computer systems.

Updates need to applied, security patches installed, new versions of programs, the latest drivers, the latest anti virus, etc.

Backups need to be checked for correct operation. Old files and users archived or deleted, new hardware installed...the list is endless and quite often these tasks are daunting or too time consuming for many SME customers.

Haycom have come up with a simple affordable solution.

The Haycom CARE program.

Computer And Resource Examination program.

Thisis basically a preventative maintenance service. At regular intervals our engineers will visit your premises and examine your network. A checklist will be gone through and written report given to you.

Minor issues will be fixed on the spot, major issues will be noted and an engineer dispatched at the earliest mutually convenient time to rectifythe problem.

Typically items checked will be:

Workstation:

  • Look at general health of machine (free hard drive space, resources free, any errors in log, device manager errors etc.)
  • Operating system up to date?
  • Antivirus up to date?
  • Applications up to date? (latest service packs?)
  • Any issues reported by users?
  • Physical problems? (fans/noise etc.)

Server:

  • Free space on server?
  • Security up to date? (user permission's accounts) General health Backups are being done correctly?
  • UPS functioning correctly?
  • Latest security patches up to date?
  • Antivirus up to date? Operating system up to date?

Physical problems? (fans/noise etc.) Application status (email server/web proxy/database etc.)

Network:

  • Any cabling issues/requirements Print queues?
  • Printer toner/ink status

So what is the bottom line you may ask?

The Haycom CARE program is extremely affordable when you consider the costof unplanned downtimes. In addition to call out fees and the exasperation you are feeling, there is the huge cost of your downtime. If even one hour of unplanned downtime is avoided the program has paid for itself.

The recommended schedule is at least a monthly examination with a fortnightly schedule being the preferred option.

Thecost of the program is $60.00 per hour with most visits estimated to be completed within this time (larger sites will possibly take longer ofcourse)

The program is sold on a minimum 3 month cycle.
